Ace Hardware wanted to produce an online version of their annual report to cut down on printing costs and allow for easier year to year updates.
Right away, our team hit the ground running doing research on several best-in-class annual report sites from within and outside the hardware sector. We set out early on to create a site that would stand head to toe with some of the coolest AR sites online.
One of the first recommendations we made to the client was to include a conversational video with CEO John Venhuizen in addition to the standard CEO letter. The video serves to put a human face on the Ace financial story as well as acting as shareable "nugget" of content that summarizes Ace's year in a warm, friendly manner.
Utilizing elegant CSS transitions, parallax animations and interactive charts and infographics, we created a site that was immersive and entertaining, telling the Ace story from a variety of different perspectives.
As the user scrolls down the homepage content elements animate into the frame, activating a deeper level of engagement and regard for the different datapoints and their relationships to each other.
