Working closely with the band and management, we went through several rounds of iteration before arriving at the final concept above. As a fan as well as an art director, I wanted to make sure and create something that would reference the complete discography while still feeling new and fresh. Some unused rough concepts from this process are below.
In the end, we settled on a realistic painted style that would sit well with other album covers in the discography. To create the final image, we conducted several stock photo searches for reference to find the perfect "model" as doing a custom shoot in a pandemic just wasn't possible. Below are some of the initial pencils as well as some unused promo material ideas.
