In early 2013, Ommegang Brewery and HBO released their second Game of Thrones tie in beer "Iron Throne". Anthem was engaged to create one page landing experience to reveal the product. I immediately gravitated toward a parallax scrolling narrative experience, using animation to bring the world of Game of Thrones to life.
As the user scrolls down the page, animated wind and snow effects helped to marry the product announcement to the amazing environments from the show.
By bringing in new environments over the old ones in a this faux 3D style, we simulated an epic journey from the Wall all the way to King's Landing and the Iron Throne itself.
Finally, our product is revealed seated on the Iron Throne followed by various social and transactional call to action links.
