HOME DEPOT: RENOVATION SITE

HOME DEPOT'S RENOVATION SERVICES DIVISION REQUIRED A 4-5 PAGE MICROSITE TO FACILITATE NEW BUSINESS INQUIRIES MORE QUICKLY THAN SEARCHING THE PARENT SITE.

The goal visually for us was to create a site that aligned to the Home Depot's mainline branding and web standards while at the same time adding a few visual elements unique to Renovation Services but not in conflict with the main brand.
Before jumping into Photoshop, I found it helpful to jot down some quick ideas in these UX sketches. Not really a wire and not really a design but something in between, done quickly to collect thoughts and start plotting in places where some of the branding elements and textures could be used.
In the final design, many of Home Depot's branding elements (wood grains, masking tape etc. etc.) are utilized for some playful call outs and color. We introduced a "blueprint" like framing to out navigation and some other elements as a Renovation Services specific visual convention.
